Almost every way to play for money is designed so the house wins over time. We wanted one where the only thing between you and the money is another person, playing the same game, with the same amount at risk.
01 — Why chess
The oldest fair fight there is.
Chess has no dice, no shuffle and no hidden information. Both players see everything on the board from the first move to the last. If you lose, you were outplayed, and the game will show you exactly where.
That makes it the rare game where staking money does not require trusting a random number generator, an odds model, or anyone's word about how a result was produced. The position is the evidence.
It also means improvement is real. A player who studies gets better, and better play earns more. That relationship does not exist in a game of chance, however it is dressed up.
02 — How we make money
We take 20% when you take money out.
That is the whole business model, stated once and applied consistently. No rake on pots, no fee to deposit or play, no charge for holding a balance, and no revenue that depends on you losing a game.
Our revenue rises when players win, withdraw and come back. It does not rise when a player loses, because a loss simply moves money to the other player. We have no position in any game.
No house position
We never enter a match, set odds or hold a side. A loss moves money between two players; it does not become our revenue.
No rake, ever
Taking a slice of every pot would quietly tax skill. The pot goes to the winner whole, at every tier.
One number, stated up front
We would rather publish a single fee people can check than spread smaller charges across deposits, inactivity and spreads.
Slower where it should be
Manually verified deposits and human approval are slower than instant cards. They are also what lets a small deposit exist at all.
03 — What we will not do
Some decisions are already made.
Every opponent in a staked game is a registered person. If matching cannot find someone, you wait; you are never quietly paired with software.
No slots, no wheels, no crash games, nothing extra riding on the outcome beyond the stake both players agreed to. Chess is the product, not a hook into something with a built-in margin.
No countdowns, no streak pressure, no near-miss animations. The interface will not push you into another match.
Bonuses that require volume before withdrawal exist to increase losses. We do not run them.
Once you exclude yourself, no support conversation can undo it. That is the point of the tool.
