Fair play & security
Real money on a chess board only works if cheating does not pay and the accounting cannot drift. Here is what protects both, in specific terms.
01 — Anti-cheat
A player consulting a chess engine would beat almost anyone. Detection is therefore the most important system on the platform, and it runs on every rated game, not on complaints.
Stakes taken from a confirmed cheat are returned to the players they were taken from, not kept by the platform.
02 — Server authority
Nothing that affects the result is trusted to the client. A modified browser, a patched app or a fake network response cannot buy a second of clock or force an illegal move, because the client never holds the truth in the first place.
Your remaining time is the server's number, not your browser's. Lag is measured and does not silently cost you the clock.
A move only exists once the server accepts it. An impossible move sent by a modified client is simply rejected.
Both players read the same server-held position. There is no version of the game living only in one player's client.
Checkmate, resignation, timeout and draw are all detected server-side, and escrow releases from that result. No admin decides who won.
03 — The ledger
Every movement is written as two matching entries: one account credited, another debited, by the same amount, in the same transaction. Balances cannot drift, and a payout cannot exist without a matching stake.
Escrow is a real account in that ledger, not a status flag on a row. When a match starts, money genuinely leaves both wallets and sits somewhere neither player controls.
See escrow in the full process04 — Collusion & data
There is no way to invite a friend into a staked match. Pairing comes from the queue, which removes the simplest form of collusion entirely.
Two accounts meeting far more often than the queue would explain is flagged, along with one-sided results between them.
The ledger makes value moving consistently from one account to another visible, even across many small games.
Withdrawals go only to a payment account in the account holder's own name, via the same method they deposited with, which makes multi-accounting difficult to cash out.
Losing on purpose to move money is treated exactly as cheating is, and closes every account involved.
Full replays of all games are public on player profiles, so patterns are visible to other players and not only to us.
If a game felt wrong, report it from the match replay. Every game is recorded, so a review looks at the actual moves and timings rather than taking either player's word.
